Our Purpose

Billions worldwide lack access to fresh water, and the fortunate millions who do are largely unaware and wary of the quality of their tap water, and rightly so. In 2016, water agency carelessness in Flint, Michigan lead to years of exposure to toxic lead, inflicting disease on hundreds of households and limiting the intellectual development of numerous children. This tragedy was not an one-off event - numerous independent water researchers have estimated that around ~30 million yearly in the U.S. alone are exposed to poor tap water. Access to safe tap water is a fundamental human right, and everyone deserves to trust their tap water.

The Team

United by a common desire to provide universal access to clean tap water, four high schoolers teamed up to take the first steps to making that dream a reality. Living in two of the states hit hardest by global warming and the disappearance of crucial water sources, California & Missouri, we were constantly surrounded by preservation initiatives looking to increase the quality and quantity of water. Lacking the resources to completely resolve the tap water crisis, we instead aimed for raising awareness and protecting people through prevention. Fortunately, as residents of the Silicon Valley, our constant exposure to innovative technology lead us to the idea for HydroVision, the first affordable IoT water monitoring device.
